Impactful Partnerships

Vistage Member Excellence Award winners attend 2023 Vistage on the Hill
VISTAGE PARTNERS WITH THE U.S. CHAMBER TO ELEVATE THE VOICE OF SMALL AND MIDSIZE BUSINESS

When it comes to bringing the voice of SMBs to policymakers at the national level, Vistage’s partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce — the leading advocacy group for small and midsize businesses — serves as a bridge to lawmakers.

At our 5th annual Vistage on the Hill last July, a select group of Member Excellence Award winners from around the country met with policy experts from the Chamber in Washington, D.C. They engaged in briefings with Chamber experts and shared real, boots-on-the-ground perspectives across industries.

“The opportunity we had to express our challenges in business to the Chamber was simply exceptional,” says Ed Trevis, a CEO member from Cedar Park, Texas, and Vistage Member Excellence Award winner.

Chair Carol Steinberg of Philadelphia agrees. “The more that Vistage members can make Chamber representatives aware of what hinders them and the support they need, the more they can flourish and contribute to the economic development of the country and their communities.”

The opportunity we had to express our challenges in business to the Chamber was simply exceptional.

Hearing from Vistage members is invaluable, says Tom Sullivan, the Chamber’s vice president of small business policy. “I take that information and many times, communicate it to lawmakers and the White House to advance pro-business policies.”

Earlier in the spring, Vistage also partnered with the Chamber on the Prompt Pay Pledge, which calls on large companies to commit to paying their small business suppliers promptly. The pledge reinforces Vistage’s commitment to advocating for the small and midsize businesses that serve as the lifeblood of local communities.

“We are passionate about helping small and midsize businesses thrive,” says Vistage CEO Sam Reese,“ and our strategic partnership with the U.S. Chamber is an important element in making that happen.”

VISTAGE + ITR ECONOMICS: THE CEO’S ‘CRYSTAL BALL’

The Vistage CEO Confidence Index celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. This trusted barometer has grown to be the largest, most comprehensive report of the perspectives and projections from CEOs of small and midsize businesses — not to mention a leading indicator of the U.S. Industrial Production Index nine months in advance.

With this milestone, we introduced a new collaboration with our longtime partner, ITR Economics. ITR has introduced a new methodology for analysis to make the data even more valuable to decision-makers. There’s also a new interactive website that offers the ability to view a comprehensive dataset, as well as a report with key highlights and expert perspectives.

“We’re excited to partner with Vistage to uncover meaningful insights that can help CEOs make smarter decisions, leveraging ITR’s advanced methodology for analysis,” says ITR Vice President of Economics Jackie Greene.“Through this collaboration, we’ll provide data-driven economic intelligence to help CEOs reduce risk and drive practical, profitable business decisions.”

“The Vistage CEO Confidence Index is a crystal ball that helps me see into the future of what businesses are facing and how it will trickle down,” says Vistage member Christina Russell, CEO of Radiance Holdings.

“It gives me the courage to have the appropriate optimism; I can share with my team that we don’t need to worry, we should be bullish and keep moving.”
