To aid in members’ pursuit of continuous improvement, we invited No. 1 New York Times bestselling author James Clear to explain the benefits of “getting 1% better every day.” By disrupting the idea that big goals lead to big successes, Clear shared insights on how to build goals at the atomic level.
In this exclusive — and entertaining — talk, Clear discussed the science of small habits, how they work and how their effects compound and multiply over time. Through his research and personal stories, members left with practical strategies to immediately apply in their personal and professional lives.
We do not rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems.

ANGELA DUCKWORTH ON GRIT
Angela Duckworth, the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author and MacArthur Fellow, comes to Vistage this February. Drawing from her bestseller, “Grit,” she will help members explore several methods to foster grit, including developing a growth mindset, cultivating personal interests and engaging in daily grit exercises.
“Grit is living life like it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

Vistage brought select award-winning members to Washington, D.C., for the sixth annual Vistage on the Hill event in July.
They engaged in face-to-face discussions with policy experts from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the leading advocacy group for business. Members shared their real-world experiences and perspectives to help influence legislation. Chamber experts, in turn, briefed members on crucial issues, such as small-business policy, labor, artificial intelligence and trade.

“Today my Vistage peers and I voiced our concerns, our ideas and our greatest recommendations. I’m confident that it’s going to make a difference, and that feels really powerful.”
